It took quite a bit of time to decide how the best way would be to mask everything and to help eliminated seepage under the tapes. I used 3M fine line tape for everything, then used masking tape and plastic to take care of all the other areas. I used 3M 1in wide tape for the area between the main blue and the accent stripe. It was expensive at $25 dollars a roll on Amazon, but it saved SO much time it was well worth the cost. To help minimize the potential for paint bleeding under the tape I used each wing panel as a natural break point. In other words I wouldn’t bridge the wing skin panel with one layer of tape. I would cut the stripe tape to a 90 deg, then lay that on the panel. The next span of tape would lay over the first tape at the panel break, like a roof shingle.
