Well, what an education this step was. I did my best to try and mix enough paint, but not cutting it so close I have to mix more, but that’s exactly what happened. Spraying a fuselage isn’t easy. The surfaces all have tapers and odd angles. I went in first with my trim gun and shot all the hard parts: gear and float fittings, tailwheel attach point, strut attach points, handles, cable exits, etc. All that stuff that a full-sized gun would make a giant mess of. I finally did get all the coats on with only two runs. Those wouldn’t be there except I tripped on my air hose and the gun made a dip too close. Other than that, I’m happy with the result. Big step forward seeing the color on a large surface.
