Brief Description:  Priming the Ailerons

Just like the other parts, prep work is never-ending. The aileron is on the stand with a bright light on the side, looking for any bubbles, creases, loose pinked edges, etc before spraying. It was a challenge being able to figure out how to hang the ailerons. The counterweight is located in the nose and as such it always wanted flip over. I was about ready to give up when the thought occurred to me to make a big loop attached to the aileron mount nutplates. The top of the loop would be well above the counterweight center of gravity and the longer bolts would allow the underside to be painted. It was still tricky getting the wires around the conduit while holding the aileron steady so it wouldn’t flip, but it is a really good solution and it worked out great. The flaps shouldn't have any problems since they have no counterweights.
