Well, after the fan and filter combination was put to the test it turns out the intake filter was way too small and not near as permeable as I had hoped. I knew then I needed to increase the filter area by a lot and slow the fan down. I ordered some paint booth intake filters from Amazon to increase the area and I ordered a 1.75in pulley off ebay. The fan with the 3in pulley turned at 1725 RPM (motor speed) and with the 1.75in pulley it slowed down to just over 1000 RPM. Between the added filter area and the reduction in fan blade speed the airflow in the booth is just about perfect! Now I can get going on the primer. I have a long road ahead of me in the paint department.
