Brief Description:  Painting Small Parts

I put my new downdraft table to good use and sprayed a ton of small parts: rudder pedals, control sticks, control stick assembly, trim tabs, brackets, etc, etc. I must say that I’m real happy with the booth. After spraying the parts, I can still smell the reducer but it’s not strong at all. I’m using Superflite System 7 for all my paint. It is a fantastic product. Steel parts are all primed with SF80 metal primer. The grey topcoat for the fuselage and the other parts is a Sherwin Williams industrial coating. It was recommended by the guy that blasted and primed my fuselage. The only drawback was that the painter sprayed it on pretty thick and it has some “rough” spots. To be fair I didn’t tell him how thick to paint and he normally doesn’t do airplane parts. I probably would have done a different paint job, but what’s done is done and it will do just fine. Plus, the mess is in his shop and not mine. Hugging the “Let it go” tree and moving on…
