What to do with the ELT remote switch? I’m not a fan of the ACK ELT as the remote components have two different batteries, but I have one so I have to deal with it. I struggled to find a suitable place for the remote switch so it is accessible to both pilot and passenger. Either wing root wasn’t a viable option and the only place on the instrument panel was by the ignition switch, and not accessible by the right seat. So I looked around and found this instrument enclosure on Amazon. I made the bezel and mounted it using Velcro on top of the instrument panel. It seems to fit in nicely and if I find it annoying I can always move it to another location.
