There was a great write-up on Matronics about making your own avionics rack using homemade T-nuts and an aluminum extrusion with a slot in it. I pretty much copied the idea and used it to make this rack. It turned out really well, even though I struggled a bit making the T-nuts correctly. Unfortunately the link I have to the web page doesn’t work anymore so I can’t share their take on it. Maybe from the pictures it will be a clue as to how it can be done.
