Brief Description: Instrument Panel Glare Shield Part 1
More prep for installing the windshield entails getting all the loose bits finalized. The glare shield I made out of Kydex. I marked and drilled the instrument panel pieces first, then transferred the holes to the Kydex piece. I went with self-tapping countersunk screws and a CS washer. Since the boot cowl is helping support quite a bit I didn’t want to use any of the existing CS screws for the plastic piece. It took a bit more fitting than I had anticipated. I even used a heat gun to help keep the ends lying flat on the boot cowling. It wasn’t as easy as I thought. {Plastic does funny things when it’s heated! I was able to correct any errors that I induced and made a nice fit. I then painted the top with the same rattlecan satin black as the rest of the top. I left the underneath gray.
