Another few welds that I made while I had my torch out was to weld the tops of the mondo cross tubes to the longerons. All these joints get covered by other tubes, but I just couldn't help looking at those gaps and not at least throwing a bead on the tops of them before the get covered up.
The measuring process begins again to locate the 25 1/2 inch mark for the apex of the tube opposite the cargo door. I know it's overkill (read anal), but as I get further into the construction of the fuselage, I really see that holding to close tolerances is really paying off in parts fit. It is still going together as per the plans as close as I can get and it really makes things easier in the long run.
