Brief Description:  Welding cabin uprights

Well, part of the hold-up for the fuselage was me finishing a gas welding class at the local college. After that, I certainly have the confidence to weld on my airplane.

The uprights for the fuselage have a bend in them. This is done by cutting a notch out and welding it shut. I haven't welded since just brfore CHristmas, so I decided to practice a bit and try out different rods. My practice parts are rejects from the first attempt at cutting notches in tubing that I had saved. I cut more notches and practiced with different rod. I tried ER70S-2, ER70S-6 and good ol' RG45. It was really fun to get the torch out again. After I was satisfied with the practice pieces, I welded the cuts closed. Next stop is to fit them in place.
