Brief Description:  More Welding Practice

Well, I won't go into detail, but I finally got some welding tips in the mail that are smaller than the ones I have.

The smallest one I had was giving me problems. It was too hot for welding .035 and I couldn't figure out why since it worked well before, I finally measured the tip and found out that the hole that was once .028 was now .031. I guess I cleaned it a bit too much with the tip cleaner. Once I got the new tip in the right size (.028) it was much more controllable for the .035 wall tubing.

Station M in the upper fuselage has a small section cut out of it and needs to be welded before the diagonals are fit and this tip thing has stalled me for over a month. But, today I was able to practice some more. I welded a few practice kerfs shut, then beat the CRAP out of them with a hammer until failure. Then, like frankenstein, I welded all the damaged areas and even practiced on a t joint. I have a long way to go for a pretty weld, but not too much more for an airworthy one.
