After doing the bend, I tried to do the next bend from Station M to Station L and wound up with another small kink because of block placement! Oh well. I’ll use it for other things! I got another piece of tubing and started again, but this time I made an oak cam with a 3/4 inch groove routed into the curve to support the tubing. It worked great. I did have to over-bend the tubing a bit to get a sharp enough bend and then I made it straight by re-blocking the inside of the tube and bending against that, effectively straightening the tube after the station. After that, I just slowly worked my way back and then trimmed where the tail post will be. I took the finished longeron and laid it on the other side and it was a perfect match. I went ahead got another piece of tubing and repeated the process and ended up with two identical longerons. Not bad, but took LOTS of time. After that, I set up the jig blocks and set the longerons in their proper place, ready for diagonals and cross tubes.
