Brief Description:  Laying out the fuselage top

Today was a mixed bag of CIvil Air Patrol, honey-dos and car maintenance, but I did manage to lay out the top of the fuselage on the jig table.

While I was laying out the top of the fuselage, I marked the position of the tail post with a 5/8ths Craftsman socket I had. The diameter is just under the diameter of the tail post tube (7/8ths) and when I draw the circle its right at the proper diameter. I had done this before and eyeballed it to center, but this time I had the socket with the drive end down. I saw the hole for the drive and I orientated the points to the layout lines and it made a perfect alignment. Since the inside of the longerons meet at the front of the tail post, to get the proper centerline of the longeron, the position of tail post has to be accurate. This made it super easy to draw the centerlines accurately.

Hopefully I'll have some time tomorow or the next day to fit the longerons and maybe some cross tubes.
