The trial fitting was very tedious. Each time I had to lift up the airplane using my overhead hoist, disconnect the struts, fit the rubber, reconnect everything and lower the aircraft. I figured the seal frame and the seal could stay on the gear, but it was important to make the sheet metal removable for inspection. I made a guess as to nutplates placement, drilled and riveted everything.
