One thing that has to be done pretty much all around the tail is to glue various pieces of AL plate directly to the fabric. My mechanic friend said 3M 1300L was the best at this. But when I read the specs it said it was specifically for attaching metal to neoprene, like a deice boot. Their 1357 formula had a broader material application range. I made a test piece of fabric with a tape glued to it to see if the glue would have an adverse effect on it. I roughed up only half of the back of the test strip, the half with the rounded end and glued the two test strips in place. Now to wait a day to test.
