I was fortunate to see Mark Scott’s award-winning Bearhawk when he did his Alaska trip with some friends. They stayed with us for a night and Mark was nice enough to let me crawl all over his airplane and allowing me to take many pictures. One of the many things that caught my eye was the air intake. Mark had created his out of fiberglass. He was nice enough to send me his mold so I could make a copy. One thing he said he would do differently is to make the intake deeper. So I got out some tools and proceeded to take the intake and lip back another ¾ inch.
