Last but not least is welding on tabs for the bottom edge. I decided on a location above the longeron just because it made sense to me. The AL will still wrap around the longeron a bit. No sense in making it longer than it needs to be. The AL sheet is bowed just slightly convex and it’s more pronounced closer to the boot cowl former up front. I played with the sheet by just gently bending it over a saw horse until I got the shape I wanted with a nice transition from front to rear. I then angled the tabs to match the slightly curved surface, using spacers and my nutplate jig. THe tabs forward of the langing gear mount had the most angle. After a bit of trial and error I settled on a proper angle and welded them in place. I think it turned out very well.
