After trying the antenna in all sorts of places in the fuselage, I finally decided to put it at the same station, opposite of the ELT. This was the best I could come up with. It's very similar to the stringer standoffs in construction except there is a tab in place of the U bracket where the plated is attached. I used a scrap rib (save your discards!) for the plate.. It's light, clears all the cables and is still acccessible through the back of the cargo area in case it ever needs maintenance. It's set 4 inches abve the bottom tube. That is the length of the wooden block I used to keep it in place while tacking the mounts.
