Well, I really needed to tackle the aft float fittings. I got some pieces from Bearhawk Aircraft, but there is no way I could make them fit. They were made incorrectly and there was no way to fix them, so time to make new. Fortunately, they are easy to make. I altered one of the gear fitting templates to mate better with the longeron and glued the templates to some flat stock. I made them just like the gear fittings, with the bends, etc. The main bracket I wanted to alter because I wanted more clearance between the rear float block and the longerons. So I basically copied the fitting I got and increased the distance from the front bolt hole and the longeron. Then the fun starts…cutting, filing, sanding and shaping.
