Brief Description:  Rudder Cables

I'm slowly making cables for the project as I come to them. I made the rudder cables using a Kearney swager that I bought at auction. I like the swaged ends better than the nicopress sleeves. The only thing was on the rudder horn the angle of the cable isn't in line with the rudder horn. Using a shackle and nicopress sleeves it doesn't have to be, but with swaged fittings it poses a problem with the alignment. It looked to be pulling about 10 degrees down. I came up with three good solutions so I could use the swaged ball end and fork. I called Bob and he suggested that I just bend the end of the horn a bit and call it good. THat was one of my options and that's what I did. HE did say that I should use two adjustable wrenches to bend it. One on the end and the other about a 1/2in away from where the horn is welded onto the rudder dpar. It's to keep from ptting on any stress on the weld there, so that's what I did...very easy.
