A real common modification to aircraft in Alaska is adding a bracing structure back by the tail. It’s kind of the Rodney Dangerfield area of the airplane…it gets no respect! Atlee Dodge has their no-weld version called the “H-brace”, Univair has an “X” brace and so on. It’s just a simple box of .035 5/8ths tubing welded in. I plan on having that area open anyway (i.e. no covering) so it also gives me a place to wrap fabric.
