After that is was just a simple task of welding the tube to the door frame and voila! I’m super happy with the result. The threads have plenty of bite and with a little Loctite it won’t move. The brass guide is self-lubricating and removable for maintenance if needed. All that is left is to weld a T-handle to the rod and it’s done.
