I really don’t like things you can’t maintain and the cargo door spring latch in the plans is one of those areas that I needed to think about changing. After thinking of about three viable alternatives to the captive spring that can’t be maintained, I came up with this. I looked in my pile of old brass fittings and found one with a pipe thread on one end and 1/4in hole through the middle. A perfect bushing for the door latch rod! I tapped the T8 tube with a pipe tap and turned down the brass fitting to just the bare essentials.
