Today I fit and welded the schnabel onto the vertical stab, lining up the piece side to side and vertical distance with a string stretched from the center of the back skylight mount. Once that was welded in place, I took some of the ¼ x 1in stringer material and fit it between the front and rear mounts. The Bearhawk Aircraft stringer material is actually 5/16ths wide, but that doesn’t matter that much. The right stringer is just a bit longer than the left because of the offset of the vertical stab, so I fit that one first. I figured if I messed that one up, I could always use it for the left one!. I’m really satisfied with the fit and the lines, so next step is to make the standoffs.
