Brief Description:  Windshield Channel - Part 3

Well, not much in the way of progress. Lots of interruptions today. But, I was able to shoot a YouTube video of how I made the windshield channel. I still have to edit it, but when it's done I'll post the link here. http://youtu.be/t-eKTyrGwW0

I completely botched the windshield channel I made. Some suggested to use heat and clamps to take the bow out of the channel. I tried and it was a HUGE mistake. It totally ruined the part. I could have probably salvaged it, but it looked really bad...and I was very careful with the torch. No matter. I have so much practice I got another whipped out and using some sheet metal techniques I got it pretty straight. I tried to think of the best way to weld it in place since it is a pretty flimsy part and can twist easily along its axis. Also, it has a small plane to focus on and difficult to get a sight on it to make sure it's aligned with the shape of the wing. I found a chunk of 1/4 inch aluminum bar in the scrap pile and that will work perfect. Now I just need to figure out the best way to hold it in place while I tack the channel to the fuselage.
