Brief Description:  Front Seats Part 21

Well, I was unable to make the sheet metal piece for the seats because all my brakes won't do a small bend, so I decided to make a small bench-top brake. I have some plans from http://www.how-to-plans.com/Sheet-Metal-Bending-Brake-Plans-18in.html and plan on making a smaller version of those. I thought I had the steel, but I have to buy a few more pieces. I always wanted one, but always procrastinated. Now is as good a time as any. I suspect I’ll be using it much more in the months to some as I make the odd small brackets and fittings.

In the meantime, I decided to try out the seat angle to position the aft seat rails. I set the seat adjuster to the middle of the travel and put the seat about where it would fit in relation to the diagonal tubes. After I set it up, I sat in it to get a feel for the position. I’ll weld the seat tracks with the channel in the middle of the tubes and adjust the up/down on the ends so the seat slides don’t bind.
