Today I cleaned up the bits of wing mount hardware and started on a press block for the front mount. I didn't want to hammer them into shape because the .090 stuff is pretty thick. I really liked what Bill Johnson did on his as shown in Russ Erb's CD, but that was a some fancy machine work. I took a different approach and made the pieces for the block separate and I'll weld them together. The center press block needs to be exactly 9/16ths wide so it forms the mount the correct width for the spar ends of the wings. Too wide and there is too much play, too narrow and the wings won't fit. I machined the first one a bit too thin and had to make another. What's another hour or so? Frustrating...
