Brief Description:  Rudder Stops

Under the "It took way too much time" department...this is where my stops are categorized. I looked at how others had done their measurements to ensure the stops at 30 degrees and wasn't really thrilled with them. I needed a reference and an easy way to get the required 30 degree measurement. So, after way too much thinking, I came up with this. I know the tail spring mount is square to the centerline of the fuselage, so I clamped a square to the surface, making sure the rudder spar was centered on an inch mark. I took a protractor that I had and clamped it underneath, lining up the ruler marks on the protractor with the marks on the square. I made sure to center the protractor under the spar as well. I then hung a plumb bob from the bottom of the rudder, being careful that it hangs straight from the bottom of the tubing. I then just aligned the string with the corresponding mark that was 30 degrees from center. I clamped a cut down AN4 bolt and tacked it to the vertical stab spar. I repeated the same on the other side. Like I said, it took way too much time, but I know it's right. I'll finish welding the bolts tomorrow.
