Brief Description:  Seat belt points and Station C-S Part 1

I haven't posted in a while, but I have been busy. It's summer and I have been getting just bits and pieces done on the BH.

The seat belt attach points went in relatively easy. I used a unibit to drill the holes in the cross tubes for the bushings and that was the ticket to get an accurate hole.

Once the tubes were drilled, I welded the bushings in place...three in all. According to the 1999 Beartracks, the two outer bushings need to be tapped to accept 5/16ths x 24 threads for a bolt. The bolt can't be accessed from the outside so it has to be threaded. I THOUGHT I had the correct size bushings welded in, but the inner diameter was a little too large to accept threads. What to do? There are three solutions actually. The first is to insert a 5/16ths bolt from the outside before covering and spot-weld the head so it doesn't turn. The second was to cut the head off a bolt and rosette-weld the stud in place on the outside. The third and the one I'll do is insert a 5'16ths bolt and loctite it in place with Loctite 638 retaining compound. At least if the threads get boogered up in the future I can remove the bolt and replace it.
