Brief Description: Rebuilding the left elevator that fell
Continuation of the rebuild of the left elevator that fell during assembly.
Match drilled all remaining parts. D/A (scuffed) up the outside rib and half rib that attach to the counter weight skin. Debured and preped. Painted the two ribs that did not have the alclad coating. Debured the rest of the parts including the skin and counter weight skin. Dimpled all skins and dimpled/countersunk those parts listed. Riveted the sub structure together Measured the existing trim tabl and fab'd the leading hinge section that was left on the damaged elevator. drill, cleco hinge debured the hinge Set lines for bending the main skin to accomodate the existing trim tab Rivet spar assembly with doublers and nutplates Set the counter weight and applied RTV to the trailing inside edge at the stiffiners Riveted on the counter weight skin (two rivets on top and two on bottom.) Set sub structure and riveted the outer rib assembly. Riveted the trim tab spar bottom
