Manual Reference:  Canopy skirt
Brief Description:  Drilling, fitting, and clecoing the skirt

To hold the canopy skirt down on the canopy frame/plexiglass bubble. I cut out 3/8" square plastic stops and clecoed them to the around the rear canopy. Pulled the skirt from the rear edge to the frame. Using the hole doubler I marked the location of the holes prevously drilled in the canopy frame. (I had to fabricate another longer hole doubler tool to identify the upper holes by the canopy bubble.) Drilled the matching holes to the #40 holes. Once I had all of the holes drilled to #40. Then final drilled the holes to #30. (This allowed me room for the minor alignment issues between the frame and skirt.)
I'm still struggling to get the rear of the skirt to connect with the rear fuselage. I have about 1/4" clearance between the canopy skirt and the fuselage. After multiple attempts to sand, cut, and fit the skirt to fit the rear bubble edge. I mixed up some resin with flock and built up the rear skirt underside, adding a 1/4" of filler and fiberglass for a better seal. I'm planning to sand down the top for a tighter fit.
Cut out and sanded down the elevator tips (previosly fiberglassed, but in taping the tips to the metal I flared the edges, so they would not fit into the elevators. Cut and sanded out the fiberglass and use metal tabs to hold the tip edges from flaring out. Glassed in new edges.
