After emailing and consulting with Van's support on the best way to repair the elevator horns from the miss drilling issue. They emailed the mill specifications and the TIG filler to use.
I met with our sheet metal forman, Andy Lodewyck who provided the certified welding skills to fill the hole. Andy felt strongly that he would suggested that instead of grinding bothsides smooth that we put a thing steel backing on the outside edge for the weld to penetrate and tack into place so it did not move and add just a little more support since the new hole would be in such close proximety. I agreed and that what you see on the outside edge of the elevator horn where the bolt/nut will nest.
A little touch up paint and I'm ready to rock and roll... (Or pitch and roll :)
