Manual Reference:  Mounting horz stab
Brief Description:  Mounting horizontal stabilizer

Reorient the plan in the garage to get better clearance around the tail section.

Leveled the fuselage along the upper longeron, as well as the roll axis laterally. Clamped the horizontal stabalizer to the fuselage. Measure adjust. Measure adjust. reclamp and confirm the spacers as well as the 3/16" drill bit spacer for the rear of the stablizer.

secured clamping of horizontal stabilizer to fuselage. checked all measurements to onfirm the stabilizer was centered. Then I triangulated the measurement forom the outer corner of the horizontal stabilizer to the mid skin transition bulkhead. 100 7/8" on left side and 100 15/16" on the right side. I performed the recommended final leveling by placing two pieces of angle on the rivet lines of the horizontal stabilizer, setting a piece of hardwood with the level on top. checked it against the leved fuselage and cound a slight variance. After checking again a couple times I realized I had only clampped the front edge on the low side. Once I clamped both sides I fould it level.

Drilled the #30 holes in the lateral angle as well as the vertical stiffiners. Clecoed as I drilled. Measured again to confirm stabilizer had not moved. Drilled the final #12 holes in the forward angle. Bolted the pieces together with the 10A bolts. Then final drilled the vertical stays and bolted them together with the 7A bolts. Measureed and leveled everyting once again to confirm everthing was still the same.

*Side note yesterday and today I completed my first two lessons on basic aerobatics. (Just increadable...)
