Brief Description: Rivet bottom forward skins to gear leg rib and sid
I had to fabricate a smaller bucking bar for the rivets in the gear leg compartment where the forward skin attaches to the gear leg ribs. I took some 3/8" flat bar and cut off a 3/8" piece maiking a 3/8" x 3/8" x 2 1/1" bucking bar that I could tuck behind the nutplates and rivet the skins that attach bit the gear leg ribs. I had jenny out riveting again on the left side skin. The 470 rivets proved to be more difficult since she would slide out the head and deform the rivet before we reached the correct size. We had to drill out a number of rivets, Patence is a virtue, it feels like the more frustrated I get with the process the worse the quality gets. . We did not finish the one side but did get a fair amount done and driled out 5-6 rivets, a couple of them multiple times.
