Fabricated from sheet stock the L06-07R/L gear fairings. These are perculiar shapes to lay out. I located and placed the hinge material on the flat cut outs. I then used a 1/2 steel rod in my bending brake to make a larger radiused bend initially. I finished the bend with a closet rod pinned to my work bench until the edges met. Then was able to insert the hinge pin. Will need to adjust them with some removal of material once the cowling is on.
Also layed out the cut-outs on the wheel pants. Made the cuts with my new oscillating cutter- works very well (this tool will work well for the canopy cuts). Located the pants as directed and drilled the pilot holes for the 10-32 screws. Tapped the pilots.
I removed the pants and filled the seams with a West Systems Microballons slurry. Sanded to contour. Pants will need a small amount of fine finish work prior to painting.
