Sonex recommends for smoother brake operation that the edgs of the brake cam be rounded over. This requires you to release the spring tension holding the shoes; there is a surprising amount of tension here. The cam then is easily removed and a small amount of material is filed off from the four abrupt eges. Easy enough.
