Brief Description:  Turtle deck skin

Assemble the splice assembly (F19-03) and piloted this to the turtle deck skins. Placed turtle deck to aft fuselage.

Note the somewhat odd but deliberately prescribed sequence in that the skin is placed prior to fitting the formers. Strange to me but that is what is called for.

As the mating edges of the TD skins are not drilled it is difficult to position and maintain in the appropriate placement; a one inch overlap is to be maintained (and was). It is very difficult for one person to hold, align, and drill. Although I may have eventually thought of this myself, Jeff Shultz was clever enought to detail his solution on his website. He hoisted the skins above the fuselage using his garage door tract and thus, in this suspended state, it becomes very simple.

You may note in picture 3 the opposite direction of the flange on my splice assembly- still looks like it will work.
