Brief Description:  LG shock struts part 2

I set up the piston shaft and cylinder as outlined in the builders manual and hung them from the attach points on the fuselage to figure out how long a piece I need for the steamline tubes. A 30" piece will work so I cut two of them. Then I welded the steamline tubes to the bottom of the cylinders.

Next I made the shock strut cuffs. To make them I made a pattern of the flat scale drawing on plans and transferred the pattern to a piece of 2" x .065" tubing. I found the pattern was not quite wide enough so I made it a little wider and it worked great. Once the shape was on the tube I used a cut off wheel to rough cut it then used a grinder to fine tune the fit.
