Brief Description:  Front seats part 2

Next was to install the seat control locking mechanism. First I had to figure out what parts I need to make to utilize the parts that came with the Avipro seats. I have some pretty good pictures of the Avipro seat lock bracket that is welded to the frame and although it looks fairly simple I think it would be hard to make with the tools I have. It looks like it's a single piece but I'm going to make mine more like Eric did even though the locking pin and other parts I have are different than his.

Like Eric I made a "U" shaped bracket with some "L" shaped pieces welded on both sides. I made those parts out of .063 sheet. I drew out a sketch for the bracket that I made but trimmed a little more off the sides after I made it. Then I needed to make a couple tubes for the pin that is welded onto the bracket. I cut two pieces of .058 x 5/8" tubing 2-7/16" long for the Avipro hardware to fit and attach to.

To tack the bracket to the fuselage I just slide it onto the seat track on the bottom of the seat frame and pushed it up tight to the fuselage tubing and tacked it.

It's kind of a kool piece. The pin is held up locked with a spring and to move the seat you lift the handle that pushes down on a flat washer and moves the pin down.
