Another thing I accomplished at Sun-n-Fun is take a good look at Mark Goldbergs Bearhawk and see where he mounted his pitot tube. I've noticed from pictures that he mounted his pitot tube in the same way that I've been thinking. It's mounted between nose ribs 8 & 9 and forward of the main spar.
I made a bracket out of .040 2024-T3 and placed it between ribs 8 & 9. I mounted the pitot tube base to the bracket. I also made a hole in the back of the conduit to feed the tubing through.
I also finished drilling and clecoing the aileron pocket ribs into place.
