A while back I saw on the CD where someone had mentioned that they wish they had gotten a burraway tool for spars (I think it was Pat Fagan). So I decided to give it a try. Looks like this tool will save me a bunch of time. You use it like a drill bit and it deburres both sides of the hole in one pass. I used it on the center splice plates and it worked pretty good.
I dissembled the right spar and match drilled the capstrips. I then put everything back together and starting opening up all the holes to #30. I also match drilled the parts on the end plates.
