I made the two parts for mounting the tail wheel spring. The lower tail wire attach piece was easy enough to make but the spring tailpost fitting was a little more work with the sharp bends. I was looking at Paul Minelga builders log and noticed he was making the same part now too. He mentioned that he was going to make the tailpost fitting an eighth of an inch wider on each side. Funny because I was thinking of doing the same thing so I did.
I welded the parts to the fuselage then mounted the tail wheel. I snapped a line on the floor and centered the fuselage on it and centered the aft hole of the spring with the line using a plumb bob.
I have a Scott Weinberg built Bob Tailwheel. This one was from his first run production so it's been waiting to be attached for a while!
