"I started welding the left side landing gear attach parts on to the fuselage. First thing I did was tack weld the center pieces at the top then heat and bend to form around the bottom. Then I started clamping the side pieces in position.
I ran into a small issue that I hadn't really thought about until it became obvious. I made the parts to match the full size drawings on the plans page # 24. The drilled holes to attach the landing gear need to all line up. When all the part are put in place, looking from back to front the front one does not line up with the other three because this is past the point where the longerons are bent up. The hole misaligns by about 3/32"".
I decided to remake those parts and add 3/32"" to the pattern bottom (including the ""U"" shaped part at the front). That did the trick - the new parts lined up perfectly. With every thing clamped in place I tack welded everything in position."
