Laid up the first layer of fiberglass to close up the ends of the HS tips.
I started by ordereing the fiberglass practice kit (the Rutan one) form Aircraft Spruce an tried some layups, mixing expoies, adding fillers, etc, to get the feel of the stuff. The quality of the West Systems products are much better than the "hobby" stuff I used in the past. The pumps on the cans make mixing very easy. I found that I can use some inexpensive "serving saver" type tupperware containters as mixing containers ... The baby food size (4 oz) are perfect for a single or double shot of epoxy. Once the stuff hardens, it simply pops out of the bottom of the container ... and I can reuse it any number of times.
