Brief Description:  HS parts prep

Started empennage assembly. Completed rear spar assembly and most of front spar assembly. Found that trimming the HS-702 flanges was a bit difficult with snips; a band saw would be better, especially for the 0.032 ribs. Found that cutting inside the lines, and then doing final trimming much more accurate than trying to cut it all in one go. It was easy to bend the HS-710 and HS-714 flanges. Not having a band saw, the belt sander did a good job to grind off the edges of HS-714 and HS-710 to shape the ends. The parts got quite hot in the process, but some patience and cooling time did the job.

The scotchbrite wheel did a good job smoothing out he bumps, and the standard green SB pads cleanded the surfaces well. Found that a dremel tool with a grinder and/or carbide cutter was useful to smooth out the relief holes.
