I talked to my Dad last week to see if he might feel up to going for a plane ride for the first time with me. I had asked him a few times in the past, but he had been having some health issue and was really not feeling like he should try it. I knew he always wished he could. Well everything worked out this weekend, the weather was great, fall colors were at peak, and Dad was feeling good. We departed Fayetteville Drake Field at 11:00 am and flew over Beaver Lake on our way north to Neosho Missouri. We visited some friends of mine, Al and Brenda, who are building a RV-12 in a hanger that they own. I think Dad enjoyed getting out of the airplane for a bit and seeing the airplanes that were in the hanger that they had built and were building. We had a nice visit for about an hour before heading back to Fayetteville. We landed back in Fayetteville at 2:00pm and I remember to take that second picture of Dad and me before we got out of the plane. It was great to be able to take Dad flying for the first time with me.
