Brief Description: Engine Build - Cylinder and Piston Assembly
I installed the first two cylinders tonight. I lubed the piston rings and installed them according to the diagram that was shown in the GP engine build manual. I have found that using the GP manual is a another good reference to go along with the Sonex aerovee manual. Like everything the first piston assembly was the most challenging. I learned really quick to cover up any engine opening when installing the wrist pin clips. These clips have a bad habit of going airborne. See picture below to see the one I dropped into the case. I was very lucky that it didn't fall into the engine any farther. I finished installing the first two cylinders and the first head.
