Brief Description:  Completed right aileron

Tonight I was able to complete the right aileron. When I started the final assembly of this aileron, I noticed that some of the rivets I had installed on the counter balance assembly were not flush. So needless to say, I got a little experience drilling out some rivets. I know now that it is critical that you pay close attention to making sure the head of the rivet is flush with the surface material. The ones that I was having the most trouble with were the rivets that were up against a lip. I had remembered reading an article, in one of the magazines I had read, about how you can modify a standard rivet gun. By grinding the head of the rivet gun at an angle and also grinding some off of the end of the rivet gun, you can get a better angle on the rivet. I tried this out on one of those $5 rivet guns I picked up at Harbor Freight. It worked great!
