Brief Description:  Flight Training - Sports Star EVSS 1st Solo X-Ctry

1st Solo Cross country to Harrison, AR FYV - HRO 1st X-country complete after about three weeks off due to poor weather. I could tell I was a little rusty. Winds were about 11 gusting to 16 out of the south 150 to 180 and at 6000 they were out of the north at 17. That seemed strange to me. Air was smooth above 4000 but a little gusty coming into land. My landings were not great, like I said a little rusty. Had no problems finding HRO or coming back. Radio transmission was smooth for the most part. Drake tower would not let me change freq. at the hold short, due to too many airplane in line to take off, so I had to contact FSS in the air to activate my flight plan. I was almost over Huntsville before I got them contacted. Opps! All in all it was a good flight and was a beautiful day to fly. I will admit I was a little nervous about this flight. I think mainly because it had been so long since I had been up and the extra cockpit work involved in a x-country flight.
