CPC Lesson #16 Had 1st cross country today to Hot Springs. Was almost dark when we got back to Fayetteville. It was fun to land with the runway lights on. Looked cool! We had low clouds to deal with when we left Fayetteville but cleared out over the mountains and a storm developed west of Hot Springs when we were down there. While we were flying back it was very hazy and we could see the rain coming down and some lightning in the storm to the west of us. The air was very smooth so other than a few weather issue it was a great time. The auto pilot was very cool!!! I think it was good to get a feel for some of the weather issues you might run into while Adam was with me. It took a good three hours or more for us to go over weight and balance, weather, and flight plan. I wasn’t expecting them to change frequencies from the normal 121.0 that I was accustom too. It seems easy to hear what you want to hear or what you think you should hear. That is a problem I seem to have sometimes. Plus when there is a lot of chatter it seems easy to miss it when they are talking to me. I think I will also be glad to hear Razorback when I get back also. I learned a lot during this flight. Things are starting to come together now that I am starting to put some of the studying I have been doing to practice. I will do my first night flight Thursday night if weather permits.
